Biodegradable Inspired Robotic Bird
EGR 557 Foldable Robotics Team 3
Introduction
This website details the design, simulation, and testing of a mallard duck inspired foldable robotic wing. First, a research question was defined. Next, the mallard duck was selected as the bioinspiration and a set of initial specifications were defined. The wing's kinematics were calculated, and then a series of dynamics simulations were performed. The design was optimized in the simulation. The design was converted to a manufacturing plan. Lastly, a hardware prototype was constructed and tested for experimental validation.
